Welcome to Transition Port Phillip
Our vision is to inspire and enhance connectedness and sustainable living within our vibrant and diverse bayside community

Calling all gardeners and growers, foodies, artists, musos, educators, jack-of-all-trades, organisers, young and young at heart and ...fun lovers!
Transition Port Phillip is about a happy, healthy, thriving community that is better able to respond to the challenges we face, like climate change, peak oil and economic instability.
If you're working towards a more prosperous and sustainable Port Phillip, or want to get involved and connect with locals taking action, sign up as a member, participate in the discussions and come along to an event or social gathering!

Community Resilience Mapping

Created by participants at a community mapping workshop, the Values Map (right) is a picture of community values and pathways for change, using transition themed icons:
head - thinking, hand - action & heart - feeling.
The Second-Hand-Made map is our latest exploration, helping to stitch the creative social sustainability fabric in Port Phillip. Coordinates celebrating all things handmade, upcycled, reclaimed & repaired have been mapped.

A big thank you to everyone for a wonderfully festive day at Transition To Sharing. The spirit of sharing is alive and abundant in Port Phillip!
Food mapping has led to sharing stories with local foodies & farmers at the Farmer's Markets. The "fruits" of our exploration were displayed at the the 2011 Creating Healthy Sustainable Societies conference, Thriving Neighbourhoods conference.
